ABOUT THE WCJ
The Wits Centre for Journalism (WCJ), based at Wits University in Johannesburg, South Africa, is the convenor of the annual African Investigative Journalism Conference.
The Centre, located in the School of Literature, Language and Media Studies which is part of the Faculty of Humanities, has more than two decades of a reputation for teaching, research, supervision and professional journalism projects including the Wits Justice Project, Jamlab, Citizen Justice Network, and the Charm project.
The WCJ is home to a postgraduate teaching programme which caters for career-entry and mid-career media and journalism professionals. Publications and events form a key part of the Centre’s work with the hosting of conferences such as the AIJC, masterclasses, webinars and public engagements in collaboration with funders and partners from across the globe.
